What: Volunteer Opportunity at the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia
When: Saturday, 30 March 2024 0800-1100
Where: 800 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA 23581
On 30 MAR, Navy Supply Corps Foundation Hampton Roads has an opportunity to provide Quality Assurance at the Foodbank where we will work on one or more of the following tasks:
- Sort non-perishable food items. This includes checking food safety of items that have been donated through a food drive, from a grocer, or through a food distributor. Volunteers will be checking for secure packages, food quality dates, and sorting with like items (all the beans in one bin, all the macaroni products to another bin, etc.).
- Pack non-perishable food for the Mobile Pantry program or emergency food relief. This is an assembly-line process where we will pack bags or boxes of food.
We need at least 16 volunteers for this event. NOTE: Families are more than welcome!
If interested please reach out to LCDR Joe Green (firstname.lastname@example.org), our Community Services Coordinator.
